Set In Stone
Set In Stone is Dublin singer/songwriter Brian Brody’s debut solo album – 10 songs which focus on love, loss, hope and inner soul searching. Recorded over 2011-2012, the album was self produced and engineered by Pat Donne, in a style which could be described as “alternative acoustic”.
Instrumental guitar track ‘UM’ sets the mood as album opener, while Brian describes ‘Rise’ and ‘God Speed Your Happiness’ as songs of hope which aim to “let people know there is a way past a tough time in their life and there is no need to be alone through hard times, ie. addiction, depression etc.”
Meanwhile ‘Love Nest’, ‘Love Me Love’ and ‘Soul Loving Life’ are deeply positive songs dealing with the nature of love and “embracing the fact you have found someone to share your life with”.
The wistful ‘Before I Dream and ‘My Suitcase and I’ see Brian deal with the more melancholy and soul searching aspects of life, before the album rounds off with ‘As Will I’ in which the four seasons are used as a metaphor for a person’s life cycle.
